Bonet took the place of Denise Huxtable in “The Cosby Show”, after being at beauty contests and acting in guest spots as a child in the TV series. However, she briefly quit “The Cosby Show” in 1987 as the star of the “A Different World” spin-off series focusing on Denise’s college life. The same year, 19-year-old Bonet played Epiphany Proudfoot in the “Angel Heart”. Later, Bonet left the series after her pregnancy was announced during. Subsequently, she returned in 1991 to “The Cosby Show”, but got fired for ‘creative differences’ in April 1991.

Lisa also played in “Biker Boyz” in 2003, where she met Kadeem Hardison. In the film “Whitepaddy” in 2005, Bonet co-starred with Sherilyn Fenn and Hill Harper. After that, however, she had no other film role until the “Road to Paloma” in 2014.

Bonet eloped with Lenny Kravitz in Las Vegas on her twentieth birthday in 1987. On 1 December 1988, Zoë Isabella Kravitz, their daughter was born by Bonet. However, she and Kravitzgot divorced in 1993.
